6 MONTH IN-SERVICE CHEF APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME

DAY RELEASE

The Day-Release Programme allows for both currently employed kitchen staff members and private individuals to train and develop as Cooks in a cost efficient and structured manner, while working. With only a 2-day per month at the HTA premises and the remainder of training online, the Theoretical and Practical components of the programme, as outlined herein, is covered.

OVERVIEW:

The programme allows dedicated people wishing to excel in the field of Professional Cookery the opportunity to obtain quality work experience, theoretical knowledge and a recognised certificate whilst performing functions in a working kitchen environment.

This programme is therefore ideal for all levels of Cooks and Junior Chefs within Kitchen Brigades, or private individuals wishing to broaden their skills.

Learners on this programme are issued with a resource and workbook set and are expected to complete written examinations in Catering Theory, Food Costing, and a Practical Exam. Successful learners will be issued with an HTA Skills award in Food Preparation and Culinary Art and are eligible to complete the City & Guilds Certificate Skills Proficiency Certificate on successful completion at an
additional cost.
